On Friday, August 28, Magnolia Grove was honored to host the Border Artist Society’s August Junk Journal Club Meet-Up.
From 6:00–8:00 PM, our tables were filled with journals, collage papers, photographs, stickers, markers, keepsakes, and wonderfully creative ideas. Guests created beautiful, deeply personal journal spreads while sharing supplies, meeting new friends, enjoying refreshments, and encouraging one another’s creativity.
A Welcoming Place to Create
What made the evening truly special was the atmosphere. There was no pressure to create something “perfect”—just a welcoming space to experiment, express yourself, and transform everyday materials into something meaningful.
Creativity Builds Community
Border Artist Society’s Junk Journaling Club is a hands-on, low-pressure creative gathering where people can play, reflect, meet new friends, and build something meaningful using everyday materials. Experiences like this show how art can create connection, welcome new voices, and strengthen our community.
