Choose a burner for your incense
Sticks & cones
Choose a holder made for your incense shape. Look for enough space to catch ash; a stick holder is not automatically suitable for cones.
Backflow incense
Use a purpose-built backflow burner with backflow cones. Regular cones do not produce the same downward smoke effect.
Tibetan incense & censers
Check the holder opening and product instructions. Bowl and censer designs vary; only use charcoal or other fuels when the product specifically supports them.
Before you light your incense
Place the burner on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts and flammable objects. Never leave burning incense unattended. Keep it away from children and pets, allow ventilation and let the burner cool completely before handling.
